Spratly Islands (AS-051) March 2009 DXpedition announcement

Spratly: John, 9M6XRO, and Steve, 9M6DXX, will lead a team of six operators to Pulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands (IOTA AS-051), between 1 and 14 March 2009. Activity will be on all bands 10 to 80m CW, SSB and RTTY using three stations, two with full legal limit linear amplifiers. Callsign to be confirmed and QSL information via M3SDE (direct or bureau). Spratly is, of course, "local" to us so it is too good a chance to pass up! Let's hope the band condx are on the up by then. 73 - all the best - John - 9M6XRO / ISWL 9M6-6982

It has been little over a month since Petrus ZS6GCM started his journey to Marion Island and we are glad to report that the staff takeover period is completed and the SA Agulhas is making its journey back to Cape Town. 4W6R, (OC-232) Timor-Leste DX News

Finally we have reached our goal, obtaining the callsign 4W6R for the operation, thanks to the hard word of our local team (TKS Pascoela de Carvalho) and to the kindly procedures of Mr. Celestino Nicolau and Mr. Jose Mª de Araujo from ARCOM. Also the renting of the house that we will use for accommodation and operation is OK.
