Not many people have probably thought about the meaning of Midsummer for the folks up in Northern Europe and specifically those rituals that are related to Aland Islands.
Maybe not even about the reason why OH0 ranks as another DXCC counter.

MongoliaA research team (Scott/KC0KHA, Dave, Gabor, and Terry) is currently in JT-land on a Mongolian Vertebrate Parasite Project (MVPP).

The team has been assigned two club callsigns for two different regions in Mongolia. While in Ulaanbaatar they will use the callsign JT1N. In the Gobi region they will use the callsign JT4N.

Finally the trip will begin on June 24th for a landing expected on June 28th.
There untill July the 4th which will be the last day of traffic. - transceiver Elecraft K2/100 and YAESU FT-857D - two 10m verticales for 40M, 30M, 20M, 17M, 15M, 12M bands and yagi for 6M band - 18m vertical for 40M, 30M bands - power amplifier 500W. - definitaly we will focus on 30M, 20, 17M bands.

Politically, the British Antarctic Territory is 'administered' from the Falkland Islands (at least as far as the United Kingdom is concerned) and as employees of the British government, members of the British Antarctic Survey are subject to this administration. Amateur radio licences for use within BAT are issued by the Falkland Islands Government. The United Kingdom (unlike Argentina, USA, Russia, Australia etc.) does not issue amateur radio licences for use in Antarctica.
