SPAIN: new frequencies for 6 & 40mts Print E-mail
Written by Xavier
Saturday, 24 November 2007

Latest newsAs of 24th, November 2007, the spanish radioamateurs has the authorization to transmit also into the following frequencies:

7,100 to 7.200 and 51.000 to 52.000 MHz

Today (23rd November) it has been announced into the BOE (Spanish Official Bulletin) Order ITC/3391/2007, of 15 of November, by that the new National Picture of Attribution of Frequencies is approved (CNAF). The complete content of the CNAF will be published in a separate supplement and the conditions indicated in notes granted to use to the 7100-7200 bands that they are transcribed as follow:

- UN15 Frequency band 47 - 68 MHz

With the exceptions indicated in the following paragraphs, the 68 frequency band 47 to MHz is destined in exclusive right to thefixed service and the terrestrial movable service.

Subbands from 47 to 49MHz and  66 to 68MHz are destined to exclusive use of the Spanish state for systems of the Ministry of Defense.

Subband 50.0 to 52.0 MHz is destined to the service of amateur radio in agreement with the conditions and limitations of use indicated in the note UN-100.

The television stations that possibly could be emitting in this band, after finalized the term to continue their emissions in band 470 to 830 MHz, will not have to cause interference to stations of other services legally authorized nor will be able as opposed to to demand protection the interference coming from them, except they did not have channel reserved in band 470 to 830 MHz.

- UN100 Radio hams in the band of 50 MHz

The 50.0 to 52.0 frequency band could be used by the radio hams in national territory under the conditions of the note 5.164 of the Regulation of the Radiocommunications making compatible its use with the emissions of television in this band.

In this frequency band, until the 3-April-2010, in the geographic zones that are indicated bellow, a maximum of 10W output power is authorized with an antenna gain of 6 dB maximum, vertical polarization and 35 meters high of the ground. Such restrictions would be annulled automatically if before the mentioned date had stopped the television emissions.

Provinces of Ávila, Madrid, Segovia and Toledo.

Other provinces with partial geographic limitations are the following ones, with indication of the zone in which the indicated specificationses are applied previously:

Palencia, Towns and Valladolid to the south of the parallel 42º N.

Zamora and Salamanca to the east of the meridian 5º O40'00 ''

River basin, Guadalajara and Soria to the west of the meridian 2º O30'00 ' '.

This use has the consideration of special use.

The use of this band by radio hams will not be able to cause interference detrimental to television stations of the neighboring countries nor as opposed to to demand protection the interference coming from them.

(See note UN-15)

- UN142 hamradio in 7100-7200 kHz

Until 29-March-2009 the use of band 7100-7200 kHz for this service (amateur radio) has the secondary consideration of category on watch and the maximum power is limited to of 24dBW.

Once again, the managements of the URE have given their fruits, although it has been with more delay of the anticipated one initially, and we can say that the Spanish legislation it has been compared to the one of good part of European countries that there are authorizedthe use of these bands to the radio hams.
