I am F4EGX Nicolas, I will soon go on Terre Adelie (Antarctica). I will be active from November to mid-December 2008, QRZ: FT5YI.
info: http://f4egx.homelinux.net/DDU2008/accueil.html
My equipment is a "HFpack" FT857D, LDG-Z100 + a fishing rod or a delta loop to make the 20m.
It is possible that I am outside to turn the radio on the ice.
Does anyone have the experience on holding the equipment (transceiver and autotuner) to -15°C (5 F)?
How can I protect the microphone on the ice, accumulated because of water vapor in my mouth?
Thank you
Nicolas / F4EGX
