OC-193

I have just received a mail from Wally, VK6YS, explaining the last news about VK6CHI from Cheyne Island (IOTA OC-193) & Rottnest Island (OC-164):

"
All is in order, and we have the permissions to camp and transmit from the island so Bruce and I should be on air from mid to late Friday afternoon local time (0600 to 0400 UTC)

Propagation is not looking too bad to Europe so hopefully we should work plenty of dxers and IOTA chasers over the weekend.

For Cheyne island we will be camping and travelling as light as possible as we have to use a small 3.4 metre dinghy to get to the island, and weather can be interesting, although the forecast now is for a reasonably fine 4 or 5 days.
Antennas are 2 Force12 XK40's, mainly for 40 and 30 metres, and a Spiderbeam for 20 and above if propagation gets there.

Rottnest Island on the other hand should be a real breeze with us staying in a villa above therottnest island
bay and only a short walk from the Hotel. Ah well, someone has to do these things in the name of amatuer radio !! We will only have one XK40 on Rottnest island as space in the villas etc is at a premium.
Regards
