J5CJanuary, 11th to 21st, 2008, GUINEE BISSAU – J5C - by F6KOP team

The F6KOP Team is very glad to inform you about its next Dxpedition 2008, which will happen in Guinee Bissau, on Bubaque Island (AF-020). For this event the most important team ever componed by F6KOP, is on the go.

We hope to be able to use all the former skills gained in the past XT2C and to be active on the most bands as possible at the same time. At the lowest of the solar cycle, we will focuse on the lower bands (40-160m). Among our goals is especially to realize the first bilateral J5-JA on 160m.

We would dedicate this J5C/2008 Dxpedition to the memory of our beloved friend, F5PVF - Gilles Simeon, past President of F6KOP ARC , Silent Key in last Septembre 2007. Gilles was one of our numerous former dx trips and was always part of the F6KOP dxpeditions,
You are missing Gilles.

The J5C calsign will be 24h a day, on all HF bands from 160 to 10 meters. We are sorry for no 6 meters traffic, but this band is not allowed in Guinee Bissau.

We will use, mainly, CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31, PSK63 and MFSK16. As usually we will try too, to get contacts on SSTV, at the end of the expedition.

Besides the DXCC award, the J5C will count also for the IOTA program – Bubaque Isl AF-020 –, and the World Lighthouses on the Air WLOTA – number 1145 –.

The QSL route is via Franck F5TVG (address correct in all of the major International and French Callbooks)

See the the dedicated page of the J5C Website. Please don’t ask for your card before the end of the expedition, Frank is part of it.

All information are now online on the official website at : http://www.j5c.eu/

As you know, this kind of expedition is very expensive. Those of you who wish help us can use the tools included in the Sponsor page of our Website.

We thank all of those who sponsor us.

Finally, don’t forget to write a little word through our guestbook.

73 and have luck for your future QSO’s with J5C.

Maurice, F5NQL, (of F6KOP), official Internet Comunications Officer for J5C.
