The ITU was founded as the "International Telegraph Union" in Paris in 1865. The modern name "International Telecommunication Union" has been determined at a conference in Madrid in 1932. To mark the 75th anniversary of this date all stations in Spain may use special prefixes (AO for EA, AN for EB, AM for EC) between Sep 3rd and Dec 9th.
