YI9WV, "Kitch", update from QSL manager, Buzz - NI5DX:
The rest of "Kitch's" radio equipment has arrived in Iraq. He is now QRV running 100 watts with an FT-857. He has lengthened his wire antenna to 130' on each leg, raised it to 35', and is using an external tuner.
"Kitch" sent his log for May 18 and it contained 335 QSOs for that day alone. Most of the contacts were with Europe, with a good number of Asian stations making the log as well. There were no North American stations in the log for 5/18.
Of the 335 QSOs, 318 were on CW, 16 were PSK31 contacts, and there was one European SSB entry in the log. Almost all of the stations received a 599 report from YI9WV.
"Kitch" is new to being on the DX side of a pileup and asks that stations please comply to his requests concerning how he wants to manage the crowd, such as working split if the pileup gets too large.
Buzz - NI5DX, "Kitch's" manager, received the YI9WV cards from the printer Tuesday and has already answered all requests that were on hand.
