TX5C, Clipperton latest news on March 14th Print E-mail
Written by Xavier

TX5C, Clipperton island CLIPPERTON , from their French Pilot F6AJA:
Hi
This a digest of some messages received in my mailbox :
We are all very tired.
The climate is very trying, with such a heat. The temperature is always between 35°C to 45°C (45°F to 113°F) at noon and there’s at least heavy rain once a day.
Because of the former problems happended when we landed and set up the camps and now the weather , we are now all exhausted and boiled.
The Daily tropical storms are very hard.
We don’t count anymore the times where we were wet and wet before returning to our tents, when leaving the traffic positions.
For the traffic :
On the lower bands the signals received are so weak and the background noise so heavy that we have sometimes to spend quite a minute to log a QSO completly. Imagine what can be the logging rate in such conditions.
Some ones have sent some unfriendly comments on the clusters. It’s very easy to critisize when seated in a comfortable armchair at home. We are not sure that those pseudo hams could be able to do better things under our traffic conditions.
So, we will begin to unset the camps on Friday (local) and we will go onboard on Saturday (local)

Updated log, uploaded:
