P29VCX, P29NI & P29VLR, Papua New Guinea (New IOTAs) Print E-mail

papua new guinea(Updates/New IOTAs). Operators Luis/CT1AGF, Derek/G3KHZ, Steve/G4EDG and Hans/SM6CVX together with two non-ham friends made it to Nukumanu Island (OC-284p). They are active as P29VCX from Nukumanu.
The plan is then to sail to Takuu Island (OC-283p) and operate using the callsign P29NI for 6 days starting about September 30th. Finally, if time permits, they will sail to Kilinalau Island (OC-256, aka Tulun Islands) and operate from there for a few days, possibly as P29VLR, between October 6-9th before returning to Buka.

The dates may vary a little depending on the local weather. They expect to operate on all bands, including 160 and 80 meters with possibly 3-4 stations, two amplifiers, verticals and a multiband dipole. Their plan is to run 4 stations simultaneously from 2 sites on each island. This should allow simultaneous operation from two stations on the same band using different modes. Two stations will use 500w linears and two stations will use 100w.

QSL P29NI via G3KHZ. QSL P29VCX and the Kilinalau Island operation via SM6CVX.

The group is looking fo  support from the ham community. More details and updates are available on their Web page at: http://www.rep.pt/P29-PapuaNewGuinea/

PLEASE NOTE: QSL Manager SM6CVX wants to remind everyone that postage from Sweden is 11 SEK to any place outside Sweden. Even to Europe and Scandinavia. This is the same as 2 USDs. So for a direct reply from P29VCX and P29VLR please send 1 IRC or 2 USDs.
