3Y0E Press release 23 December 2007

On the 22nd of December 2007 a second report of cluster spots were received that 3Y0E was on air. The only news at time of this media release was that Petrus had some problem with his e-mail and the antenna system. It is possible that the problem with the e-mail settings and antenna system has been resolved and that he was actually on air. We have to date not confirmed if Petrus has managed to fix the antenna system and urge anybody that hears him on air to make a recording of the activity and e-mail it to the Pilot Station, Rhynhardt Louw ZS6DXB.
The e-mail address to use for the recordings is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will however try to resolve the confusion as quick as possible.

The official 3Y0E website has been live now for 5 days; and we are happy to announce that as of Sunday morning 23 December 2007 we have had more that 3500 visitors on the site. We would like to thank Colin McGowan MM0NDX for the time and work he has done on the website. We are still adding media relevant to Bouvet Island on a daily basis. If you have any suggestions or information that you feel we need to add, please contact the Pilot Station.

We would also like to use this opportunity to thank everybody for the wonderful reception and interest shown in the 3Y0E operation. We would also like to wish all a safe and enjoyable time with their families over this festive season. From the 3Y0E team Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
